Wear and Wear Again | Wide-leg trousers

Wear and Wear Again | Wide-leg trousers

Although I've been gravitating more and more toward skirts and dresses lately, I am a pants girl at heart. So what better piece to showcase than the first pair of pants I ever wore on my blog? These Gap wide-leg trousers are so comfortable, and the wide leg balances out a fitted top.

Wide-leg trousers are best on straight figures (I think that's what I am) or those who are a little larger on top. They work best with a fitted top, or at least a belted one. The volume on bottom needs a little balance.

My trousers have seen me through every season:

Old Town Open to benefit local family

Old Town Open to benefit local family

ROSEVILLE - The first 2011 Old Town Open will be held at Sierra View Country Club in Roseville on Monday, July 18. Local restaurants, bars and surrounding businesses are teaming up to coordinate an annual charity golf tournament to help support a local family in need.

This exciting summer event is for avid golfers and "Scandia" pros alike, so put together your favorite foursome of friends and get ready to hit the links. Each year all proceeds will directly go to a different family in need here in our area.

This year, the Old Town Open will benefit 55-year-old Rick Geffre, an active, 22-year Roseville resident with a heart of gold. Geffre has been married to his wife Susan for 34 years, is the proud father of five children, grandpa of three and a true friend to all who meet him.

On February 8, 2011 Geffre went to the hospital with severe head pain. The MRI revealed a lemon-sized tumor in the left frontal lobe of his brain.

Moving day!

Moving day!

It's moving day!
The movers will be arriving shortly to box up our stuff and load up their truck. Tonight will be spent cleaning the apartment so that we can turn in the keys tomorrow morning, drop off K's truck with a friend (to be picked up by car shippers in a few weeks), and hit the road for our trip! No post for tomorrow, but beginning Monday I'll have scheduled and guest posts for your enjoyment. Some of my favorite bloggers are stopping by, and I think you'll really like them...

Nearly 100 animals rescued from Loomis barn

LOOMIS, CA - About a dozen dogs living in their own feces were rescued by the Humane Society of the Sierra Foothills on Tuesday.

Nearly 20 sheep, 46 goats, five pigs and cockatiel were rescued.

The animals were crammed into tight living corridors with little ventilation and "putrid" food to eat, according to Humane officer Curt Ransom.

The investigation started when the society got a tip from someone who bought an animal from a seller on Craigslist.

The person was suspicious and tipped off the animal group, who in turn started their own investigation.
