ROCKLIN, CA - A suspicious fire that burned more than an acre in Rocklin Tuesday, has police asking for the public's help.

The Rocklin Police Department said the fire broke out around 5 p.m., just southeast of Sierra College behind a residential subdivision along Freeman Circle.

While several houses and backyards were threatened, firefighters managed to keep the flames away from the homes, police said.

Some neighbors reported seeing suspicious people in the area shortly before the fire started.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Rocklin Police Department.
