LINDA, CA - Two brothers were beaten with a large tree branch on Thursday while trying to collect marijuana plants they claimed were theirs, according to the Yuba County Sheriff's Department.
A report in the Appeal Democrat revealed Ronald Davis, 46, of Marysville, and Brian Davis, 45, of Yuba City, drove a U-Haul truck to the home of Cole L. Younger on the 5800 block of Rupert Ave. some time before 6 p.m. to reclaim their plants.
Lieutenant Damon Gill of the Yuba County Sheriff's Dept. told the Appeal Democrat that when the brothers arrived at Younger's Linda property, a large fight broke out, with several unidentified people joining in the brawl.
At some point during the fight, Younger was pepper sprayed and the Davis brothers were both hit in the head with a tree branch. Both Davis brothers sustained head wounds, but the extent of their injuries was not disclosed, Gil said.
The 49-year-old Younger was arrested and booked into the Yuba County Jail on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon. He posted a $30,000 bail bond and was released a short time later.
The additional people who joined in the brawl fled before deputies arrived and were not caught, said Sheriff Steve.
