ROCKLIN, Calif. - A trail of blood led Rocklin police officers to a suspected burglar's whereabouts Monday night.

According to Rocklin Police Department reports, dispatch received a call at 10:40 p.m. from a security company after the burglar alarm was tripped at the Sunset Whitney Country Club on Midas Ave.

Officers arrived at the scene and heard noises coming from with the clubhouse. Upon entry, the officers notices several smashed windows and a trail of blood leading outside, said police.

The officers followed the blood trail out of the clubhouse and down one of the golf paths where it ceased near a footbridge. A K9 officer at the scene announced a police dog was going to be deployed to search, and Travis Dandrea, 34, of Rocklin immediately called out from beneath the bridge and surrendered, police said.

Officers searched Dandrea and found evidence connecting him to the burglary, said police.

Dandrea was subsequently arrested and booked into the Placer County Jail on charges of burglary and vandalism.

He sustained cuts to his hands during the suspected burglary. No update was provided on his condition.
