Detectives investigating 'suspicious' death of Linda woman | News

LINDA, CA - The Yuba County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a Linda, California woman over the weekend.
According to Yuba Co. Sheriff Steven Durfor, deputies responded to a 9-1-1 call of an unresponsive woman at an abandoned home on the 5500 block of Alicia Avenue, around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Arriving deputies found Cheryl Murphy, 41, of Linda unconscious and immediately called for medical assistance.. Linda Fire Department and Bi-County Ambulance personnel arrived on scene and attempted to revive Murphy but were unsuccessful in their efforts. Murphy was pronounced dead on scene, said Durfor.
According to Durfor, deputies on scene noted trauma to Murphy's body and Yuba County Detectives were dispatched to the scene.
Foul play is suspected, and an autopsy will be conducted Monday to determine a cause of what Durfor termed a "suspicious" death
