On Tues., around 7 a.m., a blackberry patch caught fire in Lincoln.

The fire was on a cattle ranch near West Wise Rd. and Manzanita. A firefighter with Cal Fire said they didn't know how the fire started, but said it was strange since the fire was in the middle of a pasture.

Cal Fire, the Lincoln Fire Department and Placer County Fire all responded to the fire and had difficulty gaining access to the area because of irrigation ponds and canals. Fortunately, because of the rain, the fire went out on its own.

No structures were damaged and nobody was hurt.
